WebMD Health Coaching

As part of the Wash U WebMD Portal experience, employees are highly encouraged to engage in coaching with a WebMD Health Coach. This free and confidential benefit is designed to help you create personal goals and remain accountable to them. Research shows that coaching can be effective in helping individuals lost weight, manage chronic conditions, and identify latent health problems.

coachingTrained Health Professionals

Your WebMD Health Coach is trained to help you address a variety of health topics.  Through a series of phone conversations, your coach will use the results from your Health Assessment and Biometric Screening to assess your personal needs and provide the information and support you need to make improvements.  By identifying your personal health risks, you and your coach can develop a plan to help you take steps that move you toward a more desirable lifestyle.

The WebMD Health Coaches have degrees in a range of health-related areas, including health education, nutrition, exercise physiology, mental health counseling, and diabetes management.  They are Certified Health Education Specialists or have a similar certification in their specialty (i.e. Certified Exercise Physiologist, Registered Dietitian, etc).  Health coaches do not provide clinical information, diagnosis, or advice regarding medication.  Your coach is trained to help you move forward at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Benefits-eligible employees will be automatically enrolled into the Health Coaching program upon completion of the online Health Assessment located in the WashU WebMD Portal. You can choose to communicate with your coach via your preferred telephone number or through secure messaging. Questions?  Call a WebMD Health Coach at 1-888-383-8742 (Option 2).
