Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA)

Washington University’s Office of Sustainability and Human Resources Department have partnered with Local Farmer CSA. WashU staff, faculty, and students are invited to sign-up as a CSA member and receive a weekly or bi-weekly Crop Box filled with locally grown produce, fruit, meat, cheeses, yogurt and/or other artisan goods.

What: Participants purchase a farm share when signing-up, and in return, receive a weekly or bi-weekly basket of locally grown items according to the type of Crop Box selected*.

  • Student Box – $20 per box. This box is exclusively for students!
  • Farm Share Box – $29.99 per box.
  • Build Your Own Box – $40+ per box. This box is fully customizable. All you have to do is spend a minimum of $40. You can add and drop items each week using the online farmers market.

*Please note: New participants will be charged a one-time $15 registration fee.

When: David Smith of Local Farmer CSA has weekly pick-up sites at West Campus on Wednesdays from 4-6 pm and at the School of Medicine Farmers Market each Thursday.

Where: West Campus pick-up location is the parking lot behind the 7509 Forsyth building in Clayton. School of Medicine pick-up occurs at the Farmers Market.

School of Medicine Farmers Market

Every Thursday, the Medical School sponsors a Farmers Market.   The event is year round. April through early November the market is open from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on the plaza of the BJC Institute of Health at Washington University School of Medicine. November through March, the market moves indoors to the McDonnell Pediatric Research atrium. Winter hours are 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Vendors bring only the freshest produce and products to the market weekly. For questions regarding the Farmers Market, contact snyderb@wustl.edu.
